Is it Saturday Yet? by Herb--Solarducknews.com Eugene, Oregon-- Coach Kelly's press conference this Monday
affirms what I believe about the new head coach, namely his dedication to
the sport and his level headed thinking of the young U of O football
team. He reviews film after the game, Monday's are a heavy workout day and as the week progresses workouts lighten up in preparation for the next game only focusing on the next one, not 2-3 weeks from now. There is a ton of football yet to be played. Preparations are under way for the Cal Bears next Saturday which will be televised by ABC at 12:30pm give or take a few minutes, according to Kelly it's who shows up and is prepared to win. He did point out that last year out of 119 teams there was only one team that went undefeated the entire season...Utah. Asked about Javid Best: Follow up from Rivals.com: Cal coach Jeff Tedford figured the fact that the game was won in the fourth quarter will help his team. "I think it will give us a boost and give us a little bit of confidence," he said. Best agreed, saying, "Next week we're going into Oregon, and that's going to be another hostile environment. I'm kind of glad that they came back and kind of tested us ? so when another team does that to us, we know how to handle it." Oregon just may make a statement also if everything gets on track for the "Rose Warriors" with the talent and team chemistry Masoli alluded to in an earlier story-- that he'll be working with the receivers on the timing and read issues "It's a combo of things," Masoli said. "The timing is off and we need to work on our reads. The receivers and myself need more work together."mailtribune.com Stat's are not something coach Kelly looks at, it all comes down to who has the most points at the end of the day.
