Hillary..Don't Give Up say's The Oregon Womens Outreach

EUGENE, OREGON--(May 10, 2008)-- Members of the Oregon Outreach today wanted to send the message and express their support of Sen. Hillary Clinton today at Thomas Roosevelt Middle School in Eugene, Oregon today with a rally that lasted nearly 2 hours and then with ballots in hand walked to the ballot drop box to cast their votes.
Tess Fields, Dirctor of the organization planned the rally several days ago with guest speakers for Hillary.

Attending and endorsing Sen. Clinton was:

Erika Alexander (Actor)

Alexander got her big break as Pamela "Pam" Tucker on the critically-acclaimed NBC sitcom, The Cosby Show. She later starred alongside Whoopi Goldberg in the 1990 civil rights epic, The Long Walk Home. Perhaps her most memorable role was as Maxine 'Max' Shaw on the FOX sitcom, Living Single, a role she played for five years.


Sophie B Hawkins (Singer)

Her debut album, Tongues and Tails, was released in 1992. It achieved both critical acclaim, earning her a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 1993, as well as worldwide commercial success. The single "Damn I Wish I Was Your Lover" went to #5 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles' chart in the USA. Whaler, her second album, was released in 1994. It also contained a Top 10 hit, the song "As I Lay Me Down."


Oregon Judge --Court of Appeals Betty Roberts:

An American politician and former judge in the state of Oregon. She was the 90th Associate Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court, the highest state court in Oregon. She was the first woman on the Oregon Supreme Court, and had also been the first woman on the Oregon Court of Appeals. A Kansas native, Roberts had previously been elected to both chambers of the Oregon Legislative Assembly, but lost bids for the governor's office and United States Senate. As of 2007 she was mediator and senior judge.


Ellen Malcolm:

Ellen has had a long career in politics, particularly in political fundraising. She is an heiress of one of the founders of IBM. After graduating from Hollins College in 1969[1], she worked for Common Cause in the 1970s. She was a press secretary for National Women's Political Caucus and later Esther Peterson, special assistant for consumer affairs in the Carter administration. She went on to found EMILY's List and is now president of America Coming Together.

Malcolm was named one of America's most influential women by Vanity Fair (1998), one of the 100 Most Important Women in America by Ladies' Home Journal (1999), one of the Women of the Year by Glamour (1992), and Most Valuable Player by the American Association of Political Consultants.

Issues that were discussed were keys that are not being addressed or even mentioned by other candidates such as the Privacy ACT, Same Pay for same Work,  Roe V. Wade, and Women voting percentages by state.

Judge Roberts commended Sen. Clinton for the work she has done in the past and expressed she is the one for addressing these issues in the future as none of the other candidates have not even mentioned these topics during their stumping.
